High Velocity Re-Strike

HVR – a market driven solution to high density components

Now you can achieve densities as high as 7.7 g/cc, cost-effectively!

The need to produce high density components continues to increase as size and weight reductions in many applications dictate higher component performance. The goal in the PM industry has always been to achieve these higher densities as cost effectively as possible; and historically, P/M component manufacturers have relied on a DPDS process (double press, double sinter) using conventional press systems; but the results, in terms of density levels, are no longer meeting the needs of the market.

HVR is an innovative but cost-effective approach to producing high density PM components – densities as high as 7.7 g/cc. Available only from Hydropulsor, the HVR re-striking presses utilize the same high velocity impact technology as our HVC systems; as a result, they carry the same high level of reliability in performance and repeatability as our HVC presses, a level of quality our customers have come to expect.

The HVR process has been proven successfully by several major Hydropulsor customers, and their published results verified through tests of our own. And now, this innovative line of new presses can be added as a perfect retrofit to your existing conventional compaction press line to help you achieve the same high densities as other Hydropulsor customers.

Machine Specifications

The HVR line of presses is based, in principle, on the HVC press line. A complete HVR press consists of:

  • a bottom plate,

  • two side supports,

  • a rammer unit,

  • a robust tool adapter, based on ejection principle,

  • a hydraulic power unit (not shown),

  • a control unit, (not shown)

  • a service table (not shown

Hydropulsor HVR Re-Striking presses are available in four models.

HYP35-2R: 2 kNm (roughly equivalent to a compaction force of 100 tons.)

HYP35-7R: 7 kNm (roughly equivalent to a compaction force of 350 tons.)

HYP35-18R: 18 kNm (roughly equivalent to a compaction force of 900 tons.)

HYP35-40R: 40 kNm (roughly equivalent to a compaction force of 2,000 tons)
